Rimmel’s Lasting Finish Lipstick By Kate #104 is a deep muted rosy pink with a creamy finish. It has an extremely lightweight feel, a rather odd texture and a good long wear time. It’s around $5 at drugstores.
I was really impressed with how this lasted on my lips – a good 4-6 hours, which for me is a long time. I also love the finish, which is a soft matte with just a bit of shine. The color should work for a lot of skin tones because it’s a neutral pink that leans just a little bit warm. It’s opaque enough to cover pigmented lips, too.
The one strange thing with this one is the texture. It feels incredibly lightweight, and yet I stay aware of it on my lips. It doesn’t slide around a lot or anything like that. It’s hard to describe, but it sort of feels like a silicon-based primer on my lips. This didn’t bother me – it took a little getting used to, but was worth it for the wear time at a $5 price point. But if odd textures are a big turnoff for you, I have to say I can imagine it being a deal-breaker for some.
I didn’t have any issues with feathering, but I typically don’t except with a very few deep reds.
The color is just a bit cooler than the natural pink of my lips, which makes it “neutral” for a lot of skin tones.
