Rimmel’s Lasting Finish Lipstick By Kate in shade #109 is a coral demi-matte. It’s more soft than bright, which makes it flattering to more skin tones and easier to coordinate with other makeup and clothes.
I’ve reviewed #104 from this formula, and #109 has the same feeling: it reminds me of a really good makeup primer, almost like a cream-to-powder formula. Once it dries, which it does quickly, it feels almost like a silicone. It’s very lightweight and wears like a second skin, neither hydrating nor drying. For me, it lasts really well for 3 hours and then starts to fade a little, but doesn’t really need a touch-up until about 5 hours. So it is a formula I’ll reach for when I want something long-lasting.
#109 goes on opaque in one stroke. It doesn’t really have any slip, nor does it move around on lips. It’s not a creamy texture – more velvety. It does have a fruity scent which doesn’t bother me. It dies down quickly, and I don’t taste it later when licking my lips or eating.
This arm swatch was just one stroke. You can see how pigmented and opaque it is.
The color is more bold than bright. This is the second one from the line that I really like!
Available at drugstores for around $5.
