Rimmel #105 Lasting Finish Lipstick By Kate is a neutral brownish rose with a shimmer finish. I really couldn’t detect warm or cool undertones with this one, which means it should be flattering to a lot of complexions.
I’ve reviewed #104 and #109 from this formula, which has a unique texture. That texture is less noticeable here in #105. It has less of the silicon-like feel but is still very lightweight and wears like a second skin so I forget it’s on my lips. Like the others, this one wears for a good 4-6 hours on me, which is well above average for me. It has a soft fruity scent which didn’t bother me and also died down and went away quickly. It feels neither hydrating nor drying to me – it just feels like my own lips somehow, which I really like. Because the texture is unique, there’s always going to be somebody who will be bothered by it (texture being a highly personal thing). If you think that’s likely for you, I’d suggest buying one of these and trying it before you buy a bunch of them.
Rimmel #105 is opaque in one swipe and has lots of pigment, so it stayed true on my naturally pink lips. Overall, I have to say this is a really good formula in general, and especially at the price point which is around $5 each. I’ve tested and reviewed 3, with one more to go, and so far I’m impressed with all of them.
Because this is such a neutral shade, it’s the sort you can keep in your bag with you at all times, no matter what you’re wearing.
