Urban Spice (around $3 at Drugstore.com or local drugstores) is the last of the NYD HD Eyeshadow trios I own. I’m not seeing it in stores anymore, but it’s still on the NYC website, so I’m reviewing it!
Urban Spice is a green and peach-copper color combination, and like the others I’ve reviewed there’s a certain sophistication to it – it’s not fun-colorful so much as chic-colorful. These three had plenty of pigment, so it took no effort to get the color you see in the pan onto your lid. Without primer, these wore pretty darn well for me, though primer did make the colors pop and extended wear time a little. But that’s true of most eyeshadows, including ones that are a lot more expensive than this.
These colors should work on a lot of skin tones – overall, they’re neutral to warm. The orange shade isn’t bright enough to be an issue for most, but might not work well on very fair complexions. All of these have enough pigment to work on deeper skin tones.
Color 1 is an ivory white frost. Color 2 is a deep emerald green satin finish with neutral to warm undertones. Color 3 is a pale peachy copper shimmer finish that doesn’t have enough orange to clash with most skin tones.
That’s with Urban Decay’s Loaded eyeliner, which goes incredibly well with the green color.
