I’ve already reviewed another Nars Soft Touch pencil called Dark Rite, which creased within 15 minutes over a really good primer. Skorpios creases just as quickly, though perhaps not in as many places. Still, I can’t think of any reason to recommend buying these. You may want to see my Dark Rite review for more information.
Skorpios is a warm soft copper with moderate shimmer. It’s got a fair amount of shine too – more than Dark Rite. It also applied much better, gliding on smoothly so it’s easy to apply it exactly where you want without using any other tools – even fingers. But unfortunately, it creased within 15 minutes with a primer, and 5 minutes without, and wouldn’t set under powder shadows either. It was slightly better than Dark Rite in every way, but still not really usable.
I also talk in my Dark Rite review about the smell on these: they smell like Crisco, and that’s probably because vegetable oil is the first ingredient! The smell really bothered me, even after it had been on for a few minutes, and I would have struggled to get past it even if I loved everything else about it.
The color was beautiful. I’d love to see Nars reformulate these pencils!
See the creases on my lid and in the crease area? If only it worked as well in the eye area as it does for a quick swatch on the arm:
