L’Oreal Colour Riche Nail Color in Safari is a gray green polish with a little bit of silver shimmer. It’s a rather unusual color, which is what attracted me to it. It applies rather thickly, yet smoothly, so it’s nearly opaque with one coat and very opaque with two. It was a little bit hard to work with because it tried to pool on the sides as I applied.
The brush photo shows how thick this polish is. Before I snapped this photo, I let the polish sit on the brush long enough that a drop fell into the bottle, and it’s still just totally covered in polish.
Unfortunately, the wear disappointed me on this one. I wore it twice with the same basecoat (Revlon Quick Dry) and topcoat (Essie Good To Go) I always wear, which normally give me at least 10 days of wear. Both times, Safari started chipping by the second day. The second time I wore it, I tried to apply it more thinly because I have a feeling it’s the thickness of the formula causing it to chip easily. I wonder what results I’d get if I thinned it a little, but I didn’t try that because I always try to review products as is and you really shouldn’t have to thin a new polish you’ve just bought and opened.
I wish this one was easier to work with because I love the color.
