Not to be left behind, Neutrogena has put out their own version of the chubby lipstick trend: Moisture Smooth Color Sticks. They’re supposed to provide “sheer, shiny color” that makes your lips softer and smoother, even after you take it off. I bought a couple of these but haven’t tried them yet. I’m actually not sure where I put them. See, this is why those of you who request a makeup organization video on my YouTube channel aren’t getting what you want: what organization? I have stuff in piles, and even the piles aren’t organized!
These come in eight shades.
Burt’s Bees is really getting into the lip product thing with several options: balms, glosses and lip “shine.” I haven’t bought any of these yet, but I’m planning to – I’ve only seen them at CVS and just haven’t been back to a CVS since I saw them. In some stores, they have both this display featuring all their latest offerings, plus other displays showing just one of these products – again. They’re really trying to get themselves out there. They claim these are all natural, and checking the ingredients list I would say I don’t see any dangerous chemicals. But never take “natural” at face value – it’s not a regulated term, and anyone can slap it on a product. Also, just because something’s natural doesn’t mean it’s hypo-allergenic. Always check the ingredients for those ingredients you want, or want to avoid.
Almay has put out a new line of their Smart Shade makeup – this time, the formula is a mousse. Sadly, I won’t be trying this one because the one time I did try Smart Shade, my face instantly started to burn and I had to wash it off pronto. See what I mean about ingredients claims? Even hypoallergenic, which this claims to be, doesn’t mean YOU won’t have some kind of reaction to it. I sure did – and that doesn’t mean it’s a bad product! Anyone can have a reaction to anything, sadly.
Physicians Formula is getting on that BB cream bandwagon. As I said in another post about Cover Girl’s BB Cream, I don’t do the BB cream thing. Here in the US, it’s really just tinted moisturizer, and I need more coverage than that. Plus, they all seem to turn ashy on me for some reason. But for those of you looking for a tinted moisturizer, this is a contender. They’ve got a BB cream powder (huh?) a concealer as well as the standard cream.
And they’ve also released some Sexy Booster bronzers, blushes and lip stains. This is related to their Happy Booster line which is supposed to give you happy hormones or something. This line is supposed to work on your pheremones, which science isn’t even sure human beings have. But whatever!
