Not to be left behind, Neutrogena has put out their own version of the chubby lipstick trend: Moisture Smooth Color Sticks. They’re supposed to provide “sheer, shiny color” that makes your lips softer and smoother, even after you take it off. I bought a couple of these but haven’t tried them yet. I’m actually not sure where I put them. See, this is why those of you who request a makeup organization video on my YouTube channel aren’t getting what you want: what organization? I have stuff in piles, and even the piles aren’t organized!
For spring, Cover Girl has put out a new line of glossy balms that look like all those chubby sticks everyone’s coming out with. These truly are balms – they don’t give you a lot of color, just a hint of it with a lot of gloss. I bought two and will be reviewing them as I slowly get back into the swing of things.
Rimmel’s spring offerings, at least in the stores I’ve been going to, are limited to just a handful of new lipsticks. But I bought one of these, and I’m impressed. It’s their Kate collection of matte lipsticks, created by Kate Moss. I bought #104, and slightly mauvey rose, and I love it (full review to come later).
Revlon has clearly been busy. This big giant display from CVS isn’t even everything. They’ve got new eyeshadows, foundations, nail polishes and even a BB cream. Oh, and lipsticks, too!
L’Oreal has some new items coming out in drugstores for Spring 2013. At my local CVS, I found a huge display with a lot of different products (including some small displays from other brands which the store had put on there, ahem). This one includes a new line of True Match concealers in a crayon form – they look like jumbo lip pencils. Also featured is their new line of Colour Riche eyeshadow palettes – I bought one and have played with it a little – and their new eyeshadow primer. They’ve got some new Trendsetter nail polishes and the Colour Riche Caresse Shine Balms – but there’s also a separate stand of those, so I’ll talk about that when I get to it. And finally, they’ve got a new Shocking Extensions mascara, which I also bought and haven’t tried yet.
