Maybelline’s got some new stuff coming out in drugstores for spring. I found all of these at a CVS. First up, we have the new Color Whisper lipsticks which are similar to the Revlon Lip Butters that came out last year – translucent but not sheer color, balmy feel. Emily from MySecretGlambition recommends these, reluctantly saying they may even be a little better than the Revlon, so budget permitting I’ll pick a couple up next time I go.
Maybelline Color Tattoo 24-Hour Cream Eyeshadows really do live up to the hype. I was going to review them separately, but it turns out all the shades I purchased perform equally well, so the separate reviews would have been pretty redundant. Note that both Temptalia and Makeupgeek felt Painted Purple didn’t show up well and was hard to work with (and they gave high marks to the rest of the line), so I didn’t buy that one and it’s not part of this review. Nor is any other color I don’t own.
Maybelline Super Stay 24 Color lip color is extremely similar to Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick, which I already reviewed. It makes the same claim of (up to) 24 hour color, and needing to be removed with an oil-based makeup remover. It goes on smoothly, and feels tacky for a lengthy dry-down, but eventually becomes smooth, if a little drying, on the lips. And then they wear for a ludicrously long time.
