Kat Von D’s Devotion Shade Shifter shadow (try saying that three times fast – $16, Sephora exclusive) is part of a new line of single duochrome shadows. The website calls them “bold” and “multi-dimensional” and describes the effect as “chameleon-like”, shifting according to the lighting you’re in. They’re supposed to be activated by water, and come with a large flat sponge tip which you dampen to apply.
Kat Von D’s new True Romance eyeshadow palette, “Mi Vida Loca” ($34 at Sephora), features a bright rainbow of eight shadows that look intimidating, but are much more wearable than you might think. They shadows are velvety soft, highly pigmented and very blendable, just like the shadows in Poetica and Saint. Mi Vida Loca also comes with a Autograph Pencil (eyeliner) in Wonderchild, a sparkling bright blue.
Kat Von D’s Poetica palette ($35 at Sephora) is a rich collection of purples, browns and coppers. The formula is creamy, highly pigmented, long-wearing and blendable.
I’ve always thought the Kat Von D eyeshadow palettes looked and felt gorgeous when I played with them in the store. When I went looking for a great neutral palette and saw the new Saint palette, I decided it was time to give it a try.
