Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Serum is, according to its website, “…independently proven to restore the skin’s structure, repairing damage caused by sun exposure. After 6 months, the skin is shown to rebuild and overtime elasticity is improved and deep wrinkles are visibly reduced.”
This is a fairly thick serum with a lightweight feel, almost like a silicone. It glides into the skin and is absorbed really quickly.
I don’t have “deep wrinkles” yet – I bought this serum for the claims that it would help with sun damage. I also bought it because I wanted to stop using Differin, a prescription cream that helps with my skin condition (keratosis pilaris), but not all that much, and is hugely expensive even with insurance.
I’m actually seeing a little bit of improvement with this serum compared to the Differin. I would have been happy if it did as much as Differin, but in addition to making my skin smoother and more evenly colored than it would be without using anything, it’s also reduced the appearance of some little brown dots of sun damage. I have these on my cheeks, and they are technically a type of tumor (don’t let the word scare you – they’re harmless). This serum hasn’t erased them completely, but it has faded them a little and made them less noticeable.
Protect & Perfect Intense Serum has not caused any side effects or irritation for my sensitive skin. I find it very gentle but effective. I use it alongside Clinique’s Clarifying Lotion to take care of my exfoliation, so you may want to use it alongside some kind of exfoliator. That way you’re getting rid of the dead skin as the No.7 Serum works to repair and rebuild new skin.
