Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick in Pepper is a creme finish medium dusty rose, available at Sephora for $24. The undertones on this one are cool, but the luminous finish makes this one suit more skin tones than a different finish would have.
This lipstick glides on opaquely and wears comfortably for an impressive amount of time. The finish is beautiful because it’s just softly shiny. There’s no shimmer or frost in it at all. Imagine putting on a matte lipstick and then going over it with a slightly shiny lip balm – that’s what this finish reminds me of. And that soft shine sticks around – not as long as the color (that would be a miracle product!), but much longer than it does with, say, many of the Mac cremesheen lipsticks (which I like generally, but some shades are definitely not as good as others). I also experienced no feathering and no settling of the color into lines with this lipstick.
As with Fig from the same line, Pepper’s finish makes it work with more skin tones than it might otherwise. The luminosity gives it a softness that makes it seem to blend with your skin color. This is a medium dusty rose color – if you have very pigmented lips, this might be a “your lips only better” color for you. My lips are mildly pigmented, and on me this is a definite couple of shades darker, but still something I could wear with almost any outfit because it’s a similar tone to my natural lips.
I really like this line of lipsticks! They’re just so easy to wear, long-lasting and comfortable, and that’s not true of many lines. I have recommended this line to friends already – of course, it’s always best if you can test first. If you can’t, but you can order from Sephora, they make two different sample sets that have this lip color in them, and the sample sets should last you a long time.
