Bite Luminous Creme Lipstick in Fig is a creme finish medium rose with cool undertones, available at Sephora for $24. Even though it’s a rose, which I normally think of as a soft, desaturated pink, I found Fig swatched and looked rather bold on my lips.
Formula & Performance
This lipstick wears very comfortably for hours. It doesn’t settle into lines, because despite the cream finish, it’s not that creamy in teture. I found it neither hydrating nor drying. The color is definitely opaque, but it doesn’t feel heavy at all. The sheen in the finish is extremely subtle – just matte with a luminous glow. The sheen lasts longer with this formula than with other similar ones I wear. It fades evenly and subtly, not becoming dry on the lips or shifting color over time.
Here it is on my arm and on my lips.
Even though, as I said above, the color is brighter than I expected from looking at it in the tube, the luminous finish allows it to flatter a wider variety of skin tones than the same color in a different finish might do. You can see how subtle that sheen is – it could almost pass for a matte on my top lip, and the bottom just reflects a few little glints of light.
I’m impressed by this line. I won’t repurchase this color, because it’s just not a shade I like to wear often (it came as part of a sample set). I will definitely be checking out other shades from the line, however. I’ve been very impressed by other Bite products from the sample set, too.
