About
Our philosophy
Glow My Way is all about beauty. We review products, offer makeup tutorials and share recipes for DIY beauty secrets. We believe that makeup is about having fun and expressing yourself, rather than fixing “flaws” or even necessarily “improving” how you look. We usually think of makeup as just making us look younger and prettier, but various makeup jobs can also make some fascinating statements about us:
- “I’m successful and professional.”
- “I don’t look a thing like any actress or model who’s popular right now, but I’m beautiful in my own way.”
- “I’m healthy and happy, and glow from within.”
- “I’m a non-conformist.”
You know the phrase “fake it ’til you make it?” Sometimes doing the makeup job for a statement you wish was true can help you make it true.
No brand snobbery here
We also believe expensive is not always better, so we spotlight drugstore products and brands like Elf and NYX as well as the higher-end brands. We also make a lot of comparisons in our reviews to help you get a sense of which products would suit you best. And we make recommendations about when we think a cheap product is just as good as anything else out there, or a high end product is really worth the bucks.
Paid reviews/promotional free products
We absolutely do not do cash paid reviews, because we wouldn’t believe a website that claimed to be unbiased if it got paid to review something, and we don’t expect you to, either. On occasion, we may receive free products to review, and when that happens, the review will clearly state it. But be assured this will never influence our opinions: all our reviews are 100% genuine, regardless of whether we bought the products ourselves or not. This site needs the trust of its readers to flourish!
YouTube Channel
We also have a YouTube channel for posting video reviews. Whatever we post at YouTube will also appear in a post here, with our remarks in the review typed out for those of you who don’t watch the videos.
We don’t show our faces on the YouTube channel, and you may be wondering why. It’s purely about security and privacy. None of us want to be famous, and even the remote chance that the YouTube channel might become popular enough for that to happen is not a chance we want to take.
We hope you enjoy the site!
